Traditional hard wiring wasn’t an option because drilling through the limestone would disturb its foundation and running conduit and wiring inside the church would ruin the aesthetics. A controls contractor in Cincinnati was designated by the church to address the HVAC issue and contacted BAPI’s Mike Horan and Mark Nurczyk to help come up with a solution.
What was the solution? It was time for the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church to go wireless.
BAPI’s wireless temperature sensor/transmitters were placed in various locations throughout the church, with the ability to easily move and relocate the sensors as necessary. The BAPI receiver and output modules were located at the base of the pulpit with the wires running down to the HVAC controller in the basement. This required limited effort because the pulpit already held wires and a conduit that ran down to the basement. The pre-existing wires were used to control the PA system for the building and caused no interference with the receiver.
Installing BAPI wireless was the perfect solution for the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. It required no drilling, the wireless sensors were discretely placed, it was less costly then running conduit and pulling wires and it achieved a comfortable atmosphere for attending parishioners without sacrificing the structure or the beauty. |
